Travel Underwriters’ cover everything from emergency medical insurance to trip cancellation and trip interruption protection. Your Alberta health insurance plan does not fully cover you when travelling out–of–province or out–of–country. Outside of Canada, it covers less than 7% of the total cost if you get injured or sick. Expenses such as ambulance services, emergency dental treatment and prescription drug costs are often not covered by provincial health insurance plans.

Visitors to Canada
Every time you travel outside your home country you may be leaving the benefits and coverage of your home health plan behind. Citizenship and Immigration Canada recommends all visitors to Canada purchase health coverage when you arrive. Canada does not pay for hospital or medical services for visitors.
